Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi: 2026 opening hours, dress code and visit
Entry to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is free, with no ticket or booking, but only in the morning: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, closed on Monday and Friday. From April to October you can enter from 7:30am to 10:30am on weekdays and until 11am at weekends; from November to March, from 8am to 11am on weekdays and until 11:30am at weekends. The last entry time is earlier than the closing time, because the queue has to clear first. The mausoleum closes every year for maintenance. In 2026 it is closed from 4 September to 2 November, with reopening announced for 3 November (Vietnamese press). In the meantime you can see the exterior and Ba Dinh Square. Dress is checked and the visit inside the chamber lasts only a few minutes. See also: the stilt house and presidential palace, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Thang Long Citadel.
Highlights

The mausoleum on Ba Dinh Square
A large grey stone building, put up in the mid-1970s, on the square where Ho Chi Minh read the declaration of independence on 2 September 1945. The exterior can be seen at any time, even outside opening hours.

The honour guard
Soldiers in white uniform stand guard in front of the monument and along the paths of the complex. Visitors file through the chamber where the body lies, in silence and without stopping.
The visit inside the chamber
You pass the body in a few minutes, under the eyes of the guards. Photos and video are forbidden inside; stay quiet and keep walking.
The surrounding complex
The stilt house, the presidential palace (seen from outside) and the One Pillar Pagoda are a few minutes' walk away, in the same district. The neighbouring Ho Chi Minh Museum charges admission (about 25,000 VND according to one guide, not confirmed).
