Vietnamese Women's Museum Hanoi: opening hours, tickets and exhibitions (2026)
The Vietnamese Women's Museum, in the heart of Hanoi, tells the story of women in the family, history, fashion and daily life of the country through costumes, objects, photographs and testimonies. It is modern, well presented and pleasant to visit in hot or rainy weather. Allow 1.5 hours. The adult ticket is 40,000 VND; the museum opens from 8:00 to 17:00 according to recent guides, but sources disagree on a Monday closure (see below). It is within walking distance of the Old Quarter and pairs with Hoa Lo Prison for a half day of museums.
Highlights

Costumes of the peoples
Display cases show the traditional outfits of several minorities, from embroidered Hmong children's caps to ao dai from different eras. It is one of the museum's visual highlights.
Women in the family
The first rooms cover marriage, motherhood and family life, with everyday objects (lime pots, salt gourds, utensils). They help explain traditional roles.
Women in history
Photographs, uniforms and accounts cover women's role in the country's wars and public life.
Fashion and street vendors
Spaces are devoted to the ao dai and to street vendors, an emblematic figure of Hanoi's streets, with photographs and trade tools.
